Why New Cars Deserve Immediate Detailing

Yesterday, a customer brought in their new '25 Tesla Model Y for detailing. Although detailing a new car’s paint might appear unnecessary since it’s “brand new,” there are actually many compelling reasons to do so—particularly if you want the vehicle to look its best and have a longer lifespan. Since you didn't fall for the "Trucoat" dealership scam, here are several reasons why you want to have a proper detail done sooner rather than later:

Factory paint isn’t perfect, and new cars often come with minor defects. Swirl marks and micro-scratches can happen during manufacturing and shipping.
Dealership handling - Most perform quick and improper wash techniques that can cause marring and leave contaminants.
If a wax or sealant is applied, it is a short-term product and often not applied properly.
Detailing your vehicle from the start is essential to maintaining its brand-new appearance. Factory paint is vulnerable to UV rays, acid rain, bird dropping, tree sap and road tar. Applying a good polish / coating creates a sacrificial layer to shield your finish, making it easier to maintain and preserving the value.
It is much easier to wash my vehicles vs. ones that don't have a proper coating. Bugs, dirt and even tar are removed with much less effort. Wash times are cut in half, making it much simpler to maintain your finish.

In 2019, I purchased an Explorer ST in Rapid Red. As soon as I got it home, I put a Ceramic coating on it, then replaced it with Graphene once it became available. When I traded it in earlier this year, the dealership considered it in "excellent" condition and gave me top dollar for it. Even though it was five years old, everyone always commented on how it looked brand new. The photo below was from last year. Even after off-roading to the top of a 12K' mountain in Colorado, the paint looked amazing.
